Triple Point (space)

Acrylic paint on 18" x 24" paper fabric

While working with two point perspective, there are lots of areas of the canvas where three colors come together (corners of cubes). This reminded me of the chemical concept of a triple point: a specific temperature and pressure where solid, liquid, and gas can coexist (for water it is 0.01 degrees centigrade at 0.006 atmospheres).

The background is a scene of water in solid, liquid, and gas forms. The floating rectangular solids are meant to evoke the notion of being in alien place (perhaps somewhere with 0.6% the atmospheric pressure of earth?).
