This piece draws on biological structures and the concepts (and shapes) that humans use to model those structures. The ribbon drawings of proteins (the arrows connected by cords) play a major visual role in the piece. Other biological structures are also present including a starfish, columnar cells, mitochondria, ribosomes, and mRNA.
